About this Event
Join the St Mark’s volunteer team for a friendly, feel‑good morning helping to make Barrow cleaner, brighter, and happier. As part of the Tidy Town Fest - Big Barrow Clean Up, we’re gathering local residents who want to roll up their sleeves and make a visible difference in our town by volunteering at our litter picking events.
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or trying something new, everyone is welcome.
What To Expect:
- We'll meet at St Mark’s Church at 10:00 for a quick briefing.
- Volunteers will head out in pairs or small groups to collect litter around the town.
- All equipment will be provided.
- We’ll return to St Mark’s at midday for teas, coffees, hot soup, and rolls — a warm thank‑you for your efforts.
Why it Matters:
This festival is all about restoring civic pride, supporting cleaner streets, and celebrating the groups and individuals who work year-round to make Barrow a place we’re proud to call home. By taking part, you’re helping create a town that supports walking, wheeling, cycling, gathering, socialising, and celebrating — a town that feels good to live in.
Who Can Join?
Everyone. Families, schools, community groups, workplaces, individuals — if you care about Barrow, you’re welcome.
What to Bring
- Comfortable clothing
- Gloves if you have them (some will be provided)
- Enthusiasm and community spirit
Let’s come together, roll up our sleeves, and kickstart a fantastic week of action. Barrow looks better when we tidy it together.
