The music of this band reflects experiences with funk, blues, contemporary jazz, latin
and worldbeat music. It’s not a retrospective - it’s a new sound that is born of these
experiences.
The band consists of John Zappa, Brad Myers, Jason Smart, Aaron Jacobs and Steve
Schmidt.
The group is comprised of musicians with extensive professional experience, playing music of various styles including with jazz greats Ignacio Berroa, Benny Golson, Jeff Coffin, Tim Hagens, Fareed Haque, Charlie Hunter, Jeff Hamilton, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath, Terrell Stafford, Conrad Herwig, Warren Vache, Don Braden and with local popular groups including Ray’s Music Exchange, The Blue Wisp Big Band and Brasilia.
The result is a well balanced and artful combination of tradition with experimental elements resulting in an original sound.
