About this Event
Chicha Morada is a Washington, DC-based band that fuses rock 'n' roll with the soulful rhythms of Peruvian chicha and cumbia. We believe that music can tear down borders and unite the working class to celebrate in solidarity and resistance. Named after the traditional Peruvian drink made from purple corn, Chicha Morada brings a fresh sound to the district full of tradition, migration, and resistance.
The Magmatics are a rock trio that draws on New Orleans funk, afrobeat, proto-metal and first-generation video games. featuring Andy Sullivan (The Airport 77s), bassist Jason Lange (The Aftertimes, Sambal Station), and drummer Matt Tebo, a mainstay of the DMV jazz scene.
