Exhibition Opening Celebration: Saturday, May 23 from 6pm-7:30pmWhat happens when three artists, bound by friendship, curiosity, and an unapologetic love of making art, bring their work together under one roof? You get Three Fabulous Women: a joyful, wide-ranging exhibition of painting and fiber art that celebrates color, craft, and the enduring human instinct to create.
Together, artists Lou Craft, Ronnie Ann Herman and Anna Upston offer work that is as varied in form as it is unified in spirit — a shared belief in the escalation of creativity, in color and light and shape and whimsy, in art as both refuge and celebration.
A note from Lou Craft:
Whenever I think of turning a whim into reality or a flight of fancy into a palpable phenomenon, I am reminded of the wooden escalator steps at Macy's on 34th Street. They have endured the ups and downs of existence for nearly a century (much as I have) and they continue to make the journey.
We Three Fabulous Women are honored to present our work at The Spark. We look forward to sharing what we revel in: bringing color, light, shape, and whimsy to life. My colleagues, Anna and Ronnie, are not only treasured friends but also exceptionally gifted artists.
And yes, while we are all rocked by this crazy world, we also believe in the ascent, and strive for the escalation of creativity and peace.
Many thanks to Ola Askan for taking the reins and being the ultimate liaison and to Jessica Laddin for her support, enthusiasm, expertise and The Spark space.
And thank you (whoever you are) for taking the ride.
