Celebrate KCS' 35th anniversary with breathtaking and transformative music! Rock your music world; this concert will astonish you and stay in your thoughts long after the last note has sounded.The conclusion to our 35th anniversary season will be a triumphant return to Benaroya Hall for the first time since the pandemic, where you’ll experience 4 great choral-symphonic works:
- A glorious early Bach Cantata (Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich, BWV 150)
- Beethoven’s sublime Choral Fantasy for solo piano, orchestra, and chorus, featuring world-renowned Seattle pianist Craig Sheppard
- Brahms’ heavenly Nänie which many consider a favorite masterpiece, with beautiful melodies and a stirring text by Friedrich Schiller (of Ode to Joy fame)
- The Seattle-area premiere of a stunning new voting-rights cantata by Reena Esmail, Seattle Symphony’s recent composer-in-residence
We are joined in performance by our long-time orchestra partners, Philharmonia Northwest.
