A Palestinian Embroidery Workshop Series
Discover the rich tapestry of Palestinian culture through the timeless art of Tatreez (cross-stitch) embroidery. At P21 Gallery, we invite you to join a special three-part workshop series designed to immerse you in the history, technique, and profound beauty of this ancestral craft. More than just a needlework class, this is an opportunity to connect with a narrative of resilience, identity, and artistic expression that has been passed down through generations of Palestinian women.
Over three immersive weekly sessions, our Tatreez expert, Rifqah Al Tamimi, will guide you from complete beginner to creating your own embroidered piece. Born and raised in Hebron (Al-Khalil), Rifqah Al Tamimi’s journey in Palestinian embroidery began in childhood, inspired by the skilled hands of her grandmother and the women in her family. This early immersion gifted her with a profound knowledge of traditional patterns and techniques from the Hebron region. Rifqah now channels this heritage into her teaching, offering students not just technical skill, but a meaningful connection to Palestinian culture and history. She is passionate about ensuring this living art form continues for generations to come.
