Despite the fact that Becket was Archbishop of Canterbury, was murdered in Canterbury Cathedral and pilgrims and tourists have been visiting his shrine in Canterbury for centuries – Becket was also once known as Thomas of London. Henry VIII may have cancelled him but if we look carefully, we can still find echoes of Becket’s life and legend in the City streets. City of London Guide & Lecturer Jill Finch takes a look at Becket’s links to the Square Mile.
In-person: For access to the event, please use the Aldermanbury entrance to Guildhall Library/The London Centre.
