Thiruvathira and Workshop

Presented by Souhrudam as part of the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 Festival

About This Event

Join 'Thiruvathira and Workshop' as part of The Circle of Heritage project, an interactive cultural event celebrating the living traditions of Kerala, India. The event brings people together across cultures and generations through traditional Thiruvathira dance performances, family-friendly entertainment, and hands-on activities.

How the Event Works

To ensure a great experience for everyone, the event is split into timed entry slots. During your booked session, you will get to experience both a central performance and interactive stalls.

  • The Thiruvathira Performance & Workshop: Watch a live showcase of Thiruvathira—a traditional Kerala folk dance performed in a circle, symbolising unity and collective rhythm. After the performance, you'll be invited to step into the circle and learn the basic movements yourself.
  • The Cultural Experience Stalls & Family Zone: Immerse yourself in Kerala’s rich heritage through a variety of interactive cultural stalls running throughout your session. Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences exploring traditional costume and identity, including saree draping, alongside visual storytelling, cultural displays, and traditional crafts. We also feature dedicated activities for kids and families, including painting and creative crafts to keep the little ones entertained!
