Are you looking for a unique, affordable after-school program for your children? Welcome to Sawubona Creativity Project where we believe that teaching the whole child means nourishing the heart, mind and spirit. That’s why all of our theatre arts programs, workshops and activities are infused with social emotional learning and character development skills everyone needs to be successful in life.
Our classes and workshops teach students how to communicate more effectively, build long lasting positive relationships with peers, develop healthy identities, encourage academic risk taking, and boost confidence and self-esteem. Our students have the opportunity and support to curate their own show for the enjoyment of their family and friends
Another major aspect of teaching the whole child is community building; and we like to lead by example. Our goal this Fall is to work collaboratively with local businesses and vendors who will come in and teach our students different aspects of what it is they do. For instance, we plan to have workshops introducing various skills like: healthy eating, mindfulness, art, yoga and more.
So, whether your child has an interest in the theater or they simply want to make new friends, Sawubona Creativity Project is the perfect choice for them. We provide an atmosphere that feels safe and inviting. Students aren’t forced to participate, they are welcomed and encouraged through the joy and excitement of exploration.
Our class offerings include: acting, improv, devised playwriting and storytelling.
Sawubona Creativity Project provides:
-A safe, collaborative environment that encourages exploration and creativity
-Imaginative learning experiences that also include end of semester class performances that enhances our students creative arts experience
-Highly qualified, certified and specially trained teaching artist and staff
-Community engagement through collaboration
-New creative lessons in each class, proven to be fun and developmentally appropriate
-Free drop-in workshops and classes at our theatre as well as programs in community centers, schools and other convenient locations
Our afterschool program runs Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm during school days. The cost for the 5-day enrichment program is $20 per day.

Don’t want to commit to an everyday program. No worries your child in grades K-6 can drop in to any one (or more) of our ongoing classes on a daily or weekly basis. Our drop in rate is $25 per session.
