About this Event
Let me take you to the first place that I have visited outside London once I have reached this beautiful country called the United Kingdom.
THE ISLE OF WIGHT!
I could not believe that such a wonderful place existed so close to home,... where I got lost, thanks to the early years of Google maps and the terrible connection. Don't worry, I have been here many times in 12+ years now and I will show you some stunning places before taking you back to the safety of your home.
Both a county and the largest and second-most populous island of England it is located in the English Channel, between two and five miles off the coast of Hampshire, from which it is separated by the Solent.
Holiday destinations since Victorian times, and home to Queen Victoria after the loss of her beloved husband, the island is known for its mild climate, coastal scenery, and verdant landscape of fields, downland and chines. The island is designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
We will of course have a peak at one of Britain's seven natural's beauties, the Needles, from the clifftop and hike the stunning seaside, beaches, forests and countryside.
AND ,as a bonus, those who wish can have a swim with me on my favourite beach in the country, also, the cleanest I know or you can go explore the hidden caves where pirates and smugglers used to hide from the British navy.
We will also walk some of the most stunning and cleanest beaches in the country and some quaint villages before we head back for the ferry home.
This is going to be a fantastic day out in Britain's warmest and driest place and is one of my most scenic hikes so if you have to choose one, choose this one!
The hike should take us around 4 to 5 hours and we will visit the town of Yarmouth and will probably end up at an old pub or restaurant, so get ready for a typical Jon's Trail day out.
We will be gone for the whole day so please do not plan anything in the evening.
