On February 13, Gidi Farhi and Mati Shemoelof will present their new duo album “The Strangers Are the Friends” in a live performance in Berlin.
The album brings together Hebrew poetry and handmade music in an intimate, lo-fi setting. Recorded with modest means and minimal production, the songs preserve the warmth, breath, and closeness of their creation.
Moving between Tel Aviv, Haifa, Prague, Berlin, and Jerusalem, the songs trace an emotional map of migration, memory, identity, and belonging. Each piece stands as a small, self-contained story - exposed and attentive to language.
An English translation of the songs will be read by Thomas Schütt.
