Dress for Success Seattle Presents: The Stories We Tell Ourselves with Julie Stoltman
The stories we tell ourselves – and get fed from the first time we’re asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?” – is that our career is an independent project. If we work hard, keep our resume updated, and get the best training and education, we will make it.
That might work for the first few years of your career, but we are interested in what happens when life hits: time demands change, interests wane, exhaustion sets in, caregiving ramps up, etc. When that happens, we can’t try to do it all alone. If we aren’t careful, our Inner Critic can take the lead at critical junctures like these.
During our time together we will examine what messaging from your inner critic might be holding you back. We’ll explore that voice and then talk about how to reframe it in a way that feels authentic to you, and compelling to potential employers.
