Overview
It’s The Stingin’ Kings, first time playing for Downtown Blues (DTB), and we’re excited to welcome them to the floor. They’re bringing their unique blend of acoustic Blues and rhythm-driven energy with a modern twist.
Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, The Stingin' Kings are a powerhouse acoustic blues trio dedicated to keeping the raw, high-energy spirit of Delta blues alive. With deep roots in the traditions of Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, and Duane Allman, the band fuses old-school blues with a modern, electrified twist.
Fronted by the dynamic Hali Smith (vocals, guitar, harmonica), armed with resonator guitars, The Stingin' Kings deliver a sound that’s both authentic and electrifying. Backed by the driving rhythm section of Mark Donoghue (drums) and Rourke Bradley (bass), the band injects fresh energy into classic blues, channelling the raw, foot-stomping vibe of the legendary juke joint parties.
With experience touring across Ireland and the UK in previous projects, The Stingin' Kings bring a seasoned stage presence and a passion for live performance. Whether in an intimate club or a festival setting, their show is a high-energy celebration of blues that resonates with both traditionalists and modern audiences alike.
Please note there will be a limited amount of seating as the majority of seating will be cleared for dancing.
