Step into The Stanza Room – a new, ongoing poetry series at The Museum of Kansas City. Each gathering brings together poetry, music, and fellowship in an intimate setting.
This celebration of National Poetry Month and Jazz Appreciation Month brings together two phenomenal talents – nationally renowned poet, Natasha Ria El-Scari and award-winning, multi-instrumentalist, Kevin “Church” Johnson.
Natasha Ria El-Scari is a writer, performance poet, educator and is the Director of the UMKC Women’s Center. She is also a certified life coach, editor and publisher for established and new writers. In addition to her six books, her poetry is published in anthologies and journals. She has five spoken word projects. Kevin “Church” Johnson is not only a soulful vocalist, but he also plays keys, guitar, bass. His humility and masterful talent as well as his support of other musicians and singers has him positioned as is one of the most sought-after singers and musicians in Kansas City and beyond.
