Presented by 2nd Chance Outreach, The Sound of Gospel© is a powerful musical anthology celebrating the enduring legacy of Black sacred music. More than a concert, it’s an immersive, soul-stirring journey through the soundscape of African American history and spiritual resilience.
From early work songs and Negro spirituals to quartet harmonies and today’s urban gospel, this dynamic stage production honors the voices that have carried a people and inspired generations.
This year’s performance features a vibrant West African opening and a moving tribute to gospel legends and musical groups like The Winans, The Caravans, The Clark Sisters, Commissioned, and more — celebrating the sounds that defined eras and moved spirits.
Also featuring a high-energy segment honoring Kirk Franklin and a powerful new finale featuring music from Pastor Mike Jr.
