Calling all Songwriters! The Songwriter's Game is a simple idea to help get over writer's block and keep new ideas coming. Every month, I'll provide two prompts - either words or phrases - and you'll write a song using one or both of the prompts. The first Sunday of every month, we'll meet up at Halcyon Brewing Company and play them live!
Sign up at 6pm for your spot. We'll be starting at 6:30p or 7pm and running through 9pm.
The rules are simple
1. Prompts are provided at least 1 month in advance and selected via random word / phrase generator for the most part.
2. Only original vocal songs that use the prompt(s) provided - no instrumentals.
3. Live performances only - no pre-recorded music (this is not a karaoke, sorry)
4. Be supportive of all performers (and the venue)
5.. Your setup must be simple (we don't have a huge PA system with lots of inputs). Acoustic instruments are preferred - but you can bring an electric.
That's it. Playing solo is totally fine, so is playing with a group. Heck bring your band (keep the setup simple though). Just have fun.
