About this Event
The Books & Books Literary Foundation, partnered with O, Miami, will host The (Silent) Reading Party: Where do you find wonder in silence? a beloved community program reimagined through the lens of poetry and attention. This special edition invites Miamians across generations and neighborhoods to pause, read, and respond to the quiet that surrounds them through handwritten Silence & Poetry Prompts.
At its heart, The (Silent) Reading Party is an antidote to distraction, a communal act of stillness and imagination. Guests arrive with a book (or choose one provided), settle into companionable silence for 30 minutes of reading, and are then invited to share a word, line, or poem in response to a prompt given at the start of the event. These prompts will center around attention, place, memory, and wonder, creating space for reflection and poetic connection.
This event is Free/Donation-based.
