The sewcial club was set up by a group of locals looking for a safe space to
...finish that half-done sewing project...
...or start something new...
...or fall in love with sewing again.
Our doors are open on the third Thursday of every month - come and sew with us. We are a collective of locals that love to sew and we've collaborated with Times and Talents to host a series of sewing sessions at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre. You can use a sewing machine to complete a project, upcycle or get back into sewing - the choice is yours.
We have 5 sewing machines available, if you'd like to use one select the correct ticket when booking your slot. There is plenty of space if you are hand sewing, cutting or preparing a project.
Note - this is not a sewing class, more a club - whilst we welcome beginners, you will not learn how to use a machine, but you can practice. There will be plenty of knowledgable people who can help, or give a second opinion and advice.
Doors open at 12.30pm.
You will have access to a sewing machine for 2 hours.
We also have a selection of fabrics donated by local designers that you are welcome to use, however you can bring your own.
Basic sewing equipment will be available including scissors, thread, seam rippers, chalk etc.
There will be a selection of patterns for small basic items that you can follow if you need a small project. We also have a selection of patterns from well known brands.
