About this Event
Come Join Us for The Senior Recital of Jazz Bassist Sydney Bridges!
Get ready for an unforgettable evening of live jazz as Sydney Bridges takes the stage one final time as a USF student, showcasing her extraordinary bass talent.
Born and raised in Tampa, FL, Sydney began her musical journey at just eleven years old when she walked into her sixth grade orchestra classroom and picked up a six-foot-tall behomoth of an instrument for the very first time. After taking a four-year break from music, a spontaneous visit to a music store led her to purchase a bass, an impulsive decision that would change her life. Soon after, she realized music was her true passion and made the bold choice to switch her major from animal biology to music, fully committing to her dream of becoming a professional musician.
She has played for the SPC Jazz band, USF Jazz Ensemble 1, USF Jazztet, USF Bone Band, USF Latin Jazztet, USF Symphony Orchestra, and the Patel Conservatory. She also runs a YouTube Channel under the name "Tiddleypidlei", which currently has almost 700 subscribers.
She has studied with many great bass players such as Joe Grady, Lloyd Goldstein, Bob Nieske, Mitchel Player, and Mark Neuenschwander.
Here music from Duke Ellington, Jaco Pastorius, Oscar Petiford, and more!!
This is an in person event, don't miss out on witnessing Sydney's talent and passion shine through in this special recital!
