Welcome to the GeoWednesday talk "The secret world of Seamounts", by Professor Carmen Gaina from Centre for planetary habitability, University of Oslo. There are millions of seamounts in the global ocean. Like on land, the submarine mountains form due to geological processes, harbour life, and play an important role in their environment.
Professor Carmen Gaina, a marine geoscientist from the Department of Geosciences, will take you to the magic world of seamounts.
