These workshops have been developed to help down regulate an overstimulated mind & nervous system. In a world where we are switched on 24/7, to the point of burnout, this experience creates space for a state of rest and digest. Cultivating connection in nature with yourself, aiming to restore and build emotional and physiological wellbeing and resilience. This workshop series is for you if you love to be in nature, are in need of a reset and want to create more connection to self and other.
What is Expressive Arts? It is a creative process-based approach that uses multiple art forms, drawing, movement, writing, sound and drama to support self-expression, reflection, growth and healing. In this workshop series we will be using nature-based expressive arts practices each week, sensitizing ourselves to the nature space around us, building from individual to group work. Using nature mandalas, writing, sound and movement in these sessions, we will immerse ourselves in the rhythms of nature allowing our own natural rhythms to emerge.
Facilitator: Bebhínn Pidgeon- I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor in Expressive Arts Therapy, currently completing my MA and clinical training to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). As part of my master’s thesis, I am researching how nature-based expressive arts practices help restore connection to self, regulate the nervous system, and bring about more emotional and physiological wellbeing. I will be including this workshop series in my writing as part of my research. With participants permission, I will include reflections, all experiences will be described anonymously, with no identifying details. If you have any questions or would like some more information, please email [email protected].
There will be a sound bath group session to help integrate the workshop series, once the 4 weeks are completed, date and time to be decided by the group.
