Consider sins erased and demons exorcised — depending on who’s telling the story, we’ll be letting more in! — because our next event is about the funk!In the broad scope of R&B, funk is where the fun resides. Funk is where “let’s party tonight and worry about it all tomorrow” resides. Funk — the glorious, tragic and complex world of funk — is where some of the wildest stories and truly legendary songs reside. With whom else but The R&B Club can you eat, drink and hear James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone, Prince, and Earth, Wind & Fire? We’ll answer that for you. ***Nowhere!*** And who knows, we might slide a little Steve Hightower “When The Funk Hits The Fan” in there for all of us who love ‘90s nostalgia. The real ones will get that reference.
Join us at our home base, Songbyrd, on October 5 from 12-2pm. We’ll provide the funk. Songbyrd, as always, has you with the food and libations. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tell a friend to tell a friend that we’re partying that day in the way only The R&B Club can!
