About this Event
This LGBTQ+ History Month join us to tell queer stories about art!
In this introductory workshop you will be digitally remixing images of artworks from the Glasgow Life Museums' collections. This could be turning them into GIFs, memes, or incorporating them into photos or videos. You will be able to explore the stories in the art, as well as your own interpretations.
All images will be provided, and the software we are using is open access and free, though some platforms may require sign up. Additional info will be sent in advance.
We will be using the GoMA library’s desktop computers. A library account is required to log on, so if you aren’t a Glasgow Libraries member already, please sign up (https://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/libraries/join-the-library) in advance (you can become a member on the day too):

This workshop will be run by Eleanor Capaldi.Eleanor is a recent PhD graduate from the University of Glasgow whose work explores audience engagement with art online. Through acts of remix, from sharing gallery photography to making GIFs, Memes and videos, these interpretations can open up new points of connection with art, encouraging an expansion of ideas around the artworks themselves, and what they mean to us. Eleanor has also worked in museum communications, LGBTQ+ equality research and writes and creates stories and films.
