About this Event
In this two-part workshop, we will learn how to draw animals ‘real and imagined’. The workshops will focus on realism techniques, and we will study anatomy, behaviour, realistic textures, and the principle of ‘form follows function’. Students can draw any animal of their choice. Students who are interested in creature design and fantasy illustration can further develop their skills to create a realistic imagined creature by combining the traits of multiple animals.
These workshops are to coincide with the 'Animals Real and Imagined' exhibition taking place at Cass Art from the 16th of February to the 2nd of March.
Class sizes are kept small to allow for plenty of one-to-one tuition. The workshops can be attended individually, but attending both is recommended for the best experience.
We will be using graphite materials in the class for black and white work, and colour pencil and markers for colour. All materials will be provided, but attendants can bring their own if they prefer. Photo references of various animals will also be available on the day, but attendants can bring their own images if you'd like to draw a particular animal! If you don't have a printer, just drop me an email and I can print your image for you.
The workshops are 15+ but children over 10 can attend with an adult.
