About this Event
The Pocket are an indie funk/rock band based in Hammersmith, West London. With a tight, methodical sound that draws as much inspiration from MF Doom as the Arctic Monkeys, The Pocket blend wide-ranging influences into an identity entirely their own.
Having met while playing together in the Imperial College London Jazz Band, the group quickly bonded over a shared love of RnB/Soul music and began jamming together. This rapidly spiralled from jazz into the realms of indie rock, hip-hop, funk, punk and whatever else sounded fun. The Pocket was formed, songs were written, an EP recorded and a small but dedicated following was established.
The result is a live act that defies both musical sensibilities and common sense, and an output that is as unpredictable as it is entertaining.
