This Sunday will see a new band at the Tavern.A three-piece blues roots, rock band from the UK, who mainly play the leading Yorkshire and northern blues venues.
Made up from seasoned musicians in Alex Eden, lead singer, guitarist and harmonica player, drummer Richard Ferdinando and bass player Richard Green. The band glean inspiration from the likes of The Black Keys, Magic Sam, RL Burnside, Taj Mahal and Dr John.
A Crosscut Saw gig is a hoodoo rollercoaster of pure primeval power. No hype, no image, no posturing, no deception, just true alchemy. No two performances are ever the same, even the musicians themselves don’t know what potent brew will be cooked up.
Crosscut Saw is well established and over the past 30 years have played in venues large and small including the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Glastonbury Festival and many, Festivals and venues around the UK and Europe including; Colne Great British RnB Festival, Burnley Blues Festival, Leeds Blues Festival, Maryport Blues Festival, Beverly Blues Festival, Honey Bee Blues Club, Unity Day Leeds, The Hebden Bridge Blues Festival, Glow Festival Huddersfield, The Shuttle Shuffle Festival and since 2003 have three self produced albums under their belts.
The show starts at 4.30 and the door charge is £12
It has been necessary to switch the planned acts due to the news that Gary Boner has suffered a heart attack and is in hospital.
For all those who know Gary from his previous visits over the years I have passed on our best wishes for a speedy recovery.
