About this Event
The 'Oo is London's great new tribute to The Who playing all the hits from Can't Explain & My Generation to Pinball Wizard & Won't Get Fooled Again. Come on down to our first Festive Frolic and enjoy 'Christmas' from Tommy and other favourites all performed by a bunch of veteran players who know the songs inside out. The line-up consists of Andy McNish (vocals/guitar), Memphis Foley (lead guitar), Marko Laver (bass) and Dave Stark (drums) - if some of the names seem familiar to you it's because Andy, Marko and Dave are also members of the fantastic Trembling Wilburys.
Dave Stark is also known as a veteran Who fan who has seen the band around 300 times since 1967 (at least half with Keith Moon) and has met all members on various occasions. As he comments, "The Who were always my favourite live band of all time so we've been having a lot of fun attempting to recreate the atmosphere and vibe of their classic concerts from back in their glory days of the '60s and '70s."
PLUS SUPPORT BY REBECCA TURNER & MICHAEL GOULDING playing a few classics by Carole King & James Taylor from their highly popular show 'You've Got A Friend". In addition Rebecca will be playing keyboards with The 'Oo and amazing everyone with her superb renditions of a few Who classics in the style of the late great Nicky Hopkins on tracks from Quadrophenia and others.
