About this Event
The New Standard is an evening-length performance that unites three emerging choreographers and three composers in the creation of original works developed through live collaboration. Performed by a cast of ten dancers and a five-person band, the project places both disciplines on equal footing, allowing choreography and composition to evolve side by side rather than one serving the other.
The inaugural presentation of The New Standard will feature collaborations between Juliette Rafael & Ilya Osachuk, Bella Mittenthal & David Sneider, and Sydney Warren & Coby Petricone-Berg.
There will be two performances — Friday, June 12 at 7 PM and Saturday, June 13 at 7 PM. A reception will follow the Saturday performance; we invite you to join us in celebrating and uplifting the arts in New York City.
