About this Event
Welcome to The Neighborhood Resource Pop Up!
This series bridges resources, education, and creativity by building a platform for community leaders and organizations to share their work with their southern Dallas neighbors. Dedicated to pouring into the health and growth individuals and families, come enjoy a day of celebrating culture and community care through resources that support access to food, health, housing, creativity, career growth, education, family engagement, and more. The first in a series of Resource parties, our November 2nd launch is focused on creating a welcoming space where people can connect, share ideas, and learn more about the positive work happening around them.
We are excited to build bridges between communities and cultures, celebrating DĂa de los Muertos with No Judgement Zone hosting an Ofrenda on campus, and spotlighting Remembering Black Dallas and the Tenth Street Historic District to honor the contributions of Black men like Anthony Boswell and Noah Penn, who helped build vibrant communities in the city, and highlight their legacy in future developments.
A special thanks to the leading organizations who are partnering together to bring you free resources and education in a vibrant third space for southern dallas communities— Proxy Properties, Child Poverty Action Lab, Cedar Crest Community Center, Dallas Morning News, and KERA.
This event is the kick-off to our 5-part Resource + Community Connection series, within the DICE Transformational Change project at Child Poverty Action Lab. Join us for the rest of the events in the series on:
