About this Event
PM Theater is delighted to invite you to their production of THE NAKED WOMAN.
The Naked Woman written by Allie Avital and Alia Azamat Ashkenazi unfolds over a winter holiday in an Upstate New York country house, where a family of Soviet immigrants gathers to celebrate Misha, a man who has built a life on achievement, intelligence, and survival, until a single moment shatters the illusion.
On a morning walk, Misha encounters a naked woman, pleading for help, but chooses to abandon her. As the incident seeps into the house, the lively family gathering turns into a Chekhovian moral reckoning.
At the center is 35 year old Dasha, Mishaʼs daughter, sharp, sensitive, and carrying a secret. Sheʼs pregnant and caught in a love triangle between a family friend and the father of her child.
As more secrets surface, Dasha finds herself torn between her loyalty to her family and the terrifying possibility of truly growing up.
Darkly comic and unsettling, The Naked Woman directed by Allie Avital is a play about blind devotion and what it takes to love without idolization.
