ABOUT THE BAND EXPERIMENT

The Band Experiment is a genre-blending collective of seasoned musicians and fresh voices, crafting a bold fusion of rock, hip hop, blues, soul, and contemporary R&B. Known for their smooth grooves, gritty guitars, and heartfelt storytelling, they push past traditions to create a sound that’s both timeless and experimental. Their music is about freedom, creativity, and connection—proving that real music has no rules, only feeling.

ABOUT KANIKKI JAKARTA

KaNikki Jakarta’s poetry has been featured on NBC, WUSA9 and Comcast. She is the Inaugural Poet In Residence for Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association. She is an Award-Winning Performance Poet and an Amazon Best Selling Author who has toured the US and the UK. KaNikki is the First Black Poet Laureate of Alexandria, Virginia, the author of three novels, two poetry collections, a memoir, a short story, poetry collection entitled ALABAMA GIRL, VIRGINIA WOMAN. She has curated and hosted events in the DMV area for 26 years. She can be found on social media platform @kanikkiJ
