The Modern Agora - ️Addressing the Mental Health Crisis (2. Edition)

Important note: As the first edition has had lots of interest and sold out within 1-2 weeks, we decided to organize this edition as a follow-up / second edition. You don't need to have attended the first edition to attend the second edition. We will build on some of the ideas developed on June 6 but also focus on areas that we could not at our first edition.

💡 What Will We Address?

According to CAMH, almost every third person in Ontario reports fair or poor mental health and almost every fifth person reports frequent mental distress. While COVID is often mentioned as the cause for these high numbers, even 3 years after the pandemic, mental health issues are still increasing.

At this special edition of The Modern Agora, we want to address this very important issue from a personal, structural and philosophical/spiritual angle. We will discuss i.e. what tools are out there to improve ones personal experience of life, how we as a society can build a better environment as well as deeper aspects such as the "meaning crisis".

Our goal is not only to talk about these issues but also to develop a number of ideas and solutions which we can present to our local members of parliament and other stakeholders. 🙏

At The Modern Agora, we are building modern versions of the ancient Greek agoras - gathering places that were central to the development of democracy, public discourse and social impact, while serving as the foundation for community life.

ℹ️ Here Is What to Expect!

• You will be able to work on one of 3-4 issues, please choose your preferences in the sign-up form
• We will be a max. of 30 people, topics will be split in groups of 5-7
• We will meet for 3 hours and spend the first part having an open conversation about our topic, the second to develop concrete solutions and the last part to discuss the solutions with the whole group - there is time to socialize too of course
• We will provide you with an intentional structure, material (pens, post-its etc.) and the environment to help making your conversations more productive

• We will have a free light brunch (croissants, snacks & fruits) and coffee for you
