The Mink Slide Feature Film Table Read
A story of service, resistance, and the fight for dignity.
Join us for a live table read, narrated by Writer and Producer Owen Woodard and read by a talented cast, featuring selections from the upcoming feature film, The Mink Slide, inspired by the Mink Slide riots in Columbia, Tennessee, a pivotal yet often overlooked chapter of American history. The story reflects the events surrounding returning Black World War II soldiers, whose demand for dignity and equal treatment ignited community unrest, and the legal fight that followed, led by civil rights attorneys Z. Alexander Looby and Thurgood Marshall, bringing national attention to the injustice in Columbia.
