Matt Stahl is a Detroit-born drummer, vocalist, and songwriter whose forty-year career is marked by deep groove, improvisation, and constant evolution. Known early in the scene as the “white guy with soul” behind the kit, Matt carved out his place in Detroit’s rich musical landscape long before becoming a frontman and multi-instrumentalist. His playing blends pocket-driven rhythm, expressive phrasing, and an instinctive feel that elevates every ensemble he joins. In recent years, Matt expanded beyond drums into lyrical and melodic exploration, adding piano and vocal work that reflect the same Detroit grit and emotional honesty that defined his drumming. Today, he leads the blues/jazz/soul influenced ensemble, The Matt Stahl Band, bringing decades of stage experience into a sound that moves between structured melody and improvisational freedom.

The DIRK KROLL BAND delivers them. Often compared to Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe and Tom Petty, Kroll is a singer-songwriter with a sound all his own featuring a multigenre mixed bag with a "power-pop swagger." Performing with a fine team of seasoned musicians, Kroll has been nominated for several Detroit Music Awards over the years and was awarded Outstanding Rock/Pop Songwriter Award in both 2020, 2021and a Special Honoree for Outstanding Rock Songwriter in 2022.
