THE MAGIC OF TRUTH ON STAGE
A Stanislavski Method Master Class Series with Nabi Abdurakhmanov and Obid Abdurakhmanov
Many actors have studied the Stanislavski Method.
They have heard about objectives, actions, given circumstances, attention, belief, and the truth of experience. These words are often repeated in acting schools, studios, and classrooms. But the true power of the Method begins not when we memorize the terms — it begins when we experience the moment when truth suddenly comes alive on stage.
The Stanislavski Method is simple. And it is magical.
Its real magic is that it opens the way to the birth of living truth in the actor. Not only everyday realistic truth, not only psychological realism, but the truth of life in any theatrical form: drama, comedy, tragedy, farce, commedia dell’arte, absurdism, grotesque, and the most unexpected stage worlds.
This master class series is not a lecture and not a repetition of acting school basics. It is a practical creative laboratory for young actors, acting students, and performers with stage experience who want to feel, through their own body, imagination, attention, and action, how stage truth is born.
Participants will move from familiar acting concepts and exercises toward a deeper creative discovery: the moment when the actor stops “demonstrating” and begins to truly live, believe, transform, and create on stage.
The series will be led by Nabi Abdurakhmanov, an internationally recognized theatre director with decades of experience leading theatres and staging productions across Germany, Uzbekistan, France, the United States, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Russia, Israel, and Egypt.
He will be joined by Obid Abdurakhmanov, a well-known actor of ESSENCE Theatre-Studio, whose work has been seen in ESSENCE productions and on Manhattan stages.
The master classes will take place at ESSENCE Theatre-Studio in Brooklyn — not in a temporary rented room, but in the theatre’s own creative home, where productions are rehearsed, developed, and born.
During the master class series, ESSENCE Theatre-Studio will also be observing and selecting actors for a future production of Tartuffe, based on Molière’s immortal comedy.
For participants, this is not only an opportunity to grow artistically, but also a chance to present themselves in a live creative process, be seen by the theatre, and be considered for a future ESSENCE Theatre-Studio production.
