About this Event
Lauded for their “remarkable musicianship and humble idealism” (The Sun Sentinel), The Lubben Brothers have spent their lives pioneering an original sound steeped in lyrical sensitivity, rich vocal harmonies, brotherly banter, and the multi-instrumental flair of the American folk tradition.
After sharing childhood on a goat farm in a family of six brothers, Michael, Josh, and Tom weave their colorful life story into their concerts and songs, earning a reputation as “a folk-singing force” (Palm Beach Illustrated) now with roots in Nashville, TN. Though their classical studies began at the age of 5, the brothers grew up on open-air concerts featuring local fiddlers, folksingers, dancers, and storytellers, all of which drove them to find their unique voice in the folk tradition. Now, supported by two decades of classical study and over ten years of performance, the 30-year-old brothers are veterans of the stage with tour appearances ranging from classical performing arts centers to hockey arenas. Their original music has aired on radio stations across the United States, and was specially chosen as an encore for NPR’s “Live from Here” with Chris Thile (2020). In the world of film, the music from their Christmas album “Snow” was featured in Netflix’s premiere film of the 2021 season, Love Hard.
While The Lubben Brothers continue to headline folk festivals and entertain venues nationwide, their classical roots have led to award-winning collaborations with orchestras, choirs, and theatre companies. Notable collaborations include the brothers’ performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and original songs with The Symphony of The Americas (Feb. 2020), the Palm Beach Shakespeare Company’s production of “Twelfth Night” scored by The Lubben Brothers (Summer 2021), and multiple collaborations with Sarasota’s Key Chorale featuring original choral works (2022-2025). In Fall 2025, the brothers will celebrate the premiere of their original musical, “The Luck,” at The Gordon Theatre in Pensacola, FL.
When not performing, The Lubben Brothers actively write, record, and release new music to a steadily growing worldwide audience; most recently, their album “Wonder” released to all digital platforms in January, 2025. The brothers plan to release tracks from their upcoming American Storytellers album Summer 2025, followed by a full-length album of songs from their musical “The Luck” in the Fall.
