About this Event
This interactive and reflective training course is designed for professionals working across health, social care, education and community settings who support people with learning disabilities and/or LGBTQ+ identities.
The session explores how to provide inclusive, confident and person-centred support around identity, relationships and wellbeing.
Participants will develop a stronger understanding of LGBTQ+ identities, language and lived experiences, alongside the specific barriers and inequalities faced by people with learning disabilities who are also part of the LGBTQ+ community. Through guided discussion, practical activities and self-reflection, the course creates space to explore personal values, challenge assumptions and build confidence in navigating complex or sensitive situations.

- Develop a deeper understanding of intersectional experiences, particularly for LGBTQ+ people with learning disabilities
- Reflect on your own values, biases and professional responsibilities in a safe and supportive environment
- Gain practical strategies, activities and resources to enhance your day-to-day practice
- Connect with others working in similar roles and share learning and experiences
