Have you ever used music or other art to escape? I have, and I know many others who do the same. The Liminal Lady is a singer-songwriter performance about how imagination can heal. The title is borrowed from Brian Froud’s book ‘Good Faeries, Bad Faeries’, and has come to represent a character that I created daydreaming as a child. This Liminal Lady has shifted, morphed (and even temporarily disappeared!) over the years, and whilst I’m nervous for you to meet her, it’s time for her to take a trip into the real world. This event will be free to attend and will feature songs from my new EP, as well as some older favourites.
Not only that, but some wonderful women from the Fearless Women's Songwriting Workshop, organised by Plymouth Music Collective, have agreed to share some of their songs with you beforehand.
This project feels like the closest thing to my true self that I’ve ever written and it has helped me to explore and make sense of a world that sometimes feels harsh and unforgiving - I hope that she might be able to do the same for you. Or at the very least, I hope you enjoy sharing the daydream with me!
