We're looking forward to welcoming back Matt Waldron to discuss a view from the apostle Paul. How does Paul of 2000 years ago speak to us today?Working in the field of law can be a blessing and a curse. Often people have contradictory expectations of those working in law.
On the one hand, there is enormous pressure to deal with issues of great importance. On the other, many people have negative stereotypes of lawyers.
The apostle Paul loved the law. In his context he was an expert in the law, as shown in his Letter to the Romans. As much as he loved it, he also insisted it was not enough to bring about moral transformation or growth. Could Paul be making a psychological argument for the insufficiency of law? Does Paul suggest a personal relationship with law, and more so, an enrichment in that relationship?
