This concert will be a remarkable event! Join The Polish Duo (violin/piano) for iconic music by Czech, Norwegian and British composers.
About this Event

Join violinist Dominika Dancewicz and pianist Alina Klimaszewska, also known as The Polish Duo, for an afternoon of breathtaking music by Czech, Norwegian and British composers. The concert is hosted by St.John’s Presbyterian Church in Houston, and it is a part of SJPC’s Lenten Arts Series.

The centerpiece of the program is the iconic rhapsody for Violin and Piano “The Lark Ascending” by Ralph Vaughan-Williams, a vivid and glorious depiction of a frolicking lark in rural fields. Together with it, we will perform a set of Four Pieces by Josef Suk, each of them inspired by the folklore and emotional intensity of his native Bohemia. Lastly, hear the famous, fiery Sonata in C minor by Edward Grieg, steeped in Norwegian dance-like rhythms.

The Polish Duo will be joined by tenor Mark Swindler for a performance of three songs by Roger Quilter. As always, there will be some storytelling about the music by the artists, delivered directly from the stage!

This concert will be a remarkable feast of beauty. It is great for anyone who wants to enjoy beautiful music, and who is curious to learn its history, meaning and context.

It is FREE and open to all, but donations are appreciated. Feel free to RSVP and deliver your donation at: https://blondviolin.com/purchase-donate

Families and school students are encouraged to attend, however please note that this event is not appropriate for very small children. Only ages 7 and up, please.
