About this Event
This new workshop is designed, to put it bluntly, to get you ready to DO AN IMPROVISED SHAKESPEAREAN SHOW!
A genuine love of Shakespeare is useful; but experience of performing his work is not vital. Using scenic archetypes from Shakespearean and Elizabethan drama, and various School of Night procedures, we will prepare the group for a show that same evening, using the entire group. You will perform with the School of Night later that evening in Unity One at 7pm.
Expect Boring Lords, closet and tavern scenes, witty confrontations and tragic soliloquies. If you're not quite ready to improvise iambic live, then book a ticket to the show; but if you're up for the high-wire antics, we'd love to have you!
What previous participants' have said:
Almost a year after Oliver’s workshop, I’m still applying what I learned. Thanks to him, I now live by the mantra ‘the scene is in the other person’. His decades of improv experience and deep understanding of great theatre elevated my skills in just a few hours. He also created a playful, supportive space where failing feels safe and bold choices are celebrated – the perfect environment to grow as an improviser. If you’re considering signing up, don’t think twice. Just do it. You won’t regret it.
