About this Event
We are thrilled to welcome Dr Jane Masséglia to deliver the third talk of our 2025-26 speaker series. Do join us for a fascinating presentation.
About the talk:
Dr Jane Masséglia is an Associate Professor of Ancient History and part of the joint University of Leicester-Historic England team responsible for the publication and presentation of the Roman villa complex discovered in Rutland in 2020. Her work focuses on the great Trojan War mosaic excavated on the site by the University in 2021, and which featured in Alice Roberts' documentary TV series, Digging for Britain. Her talk will explain which parts of the Trojan War story the mosaic depicts, where the story originated, and even suggest how it might have reached Roman Britain.
