• The Jaywalkers
In the heart of Tampa’s vibrant music scene, emerges a new high-energy rocking blues band: The Jaywalkers. Spearheaded by the immensely talented Robbie Robertson,
known as the founder of the long-running Tampa-based blues band Thunderbolt Brown, this latest project brings a wealth of experience and passion. Having composed and produced seven impressive albums that have captivated blues enthusiasts for years, Robertson’s influence and expertise shine through.
Robbie Robertson's influence and leadership are immediately evident in the band's dynamic performances. His guitar work is both soulful and electrifying, capturing the essence of the blues while infusing it with a modern, rock-driven energy. As a Tampa resident, Robertson’s local roots add an authentic touch to the band’s sound.
On bass, Angel Vicens delivers a performance that is nothing short of masterful. Having understudied with the world-acclaimed bassist Jaco Pastorious, Vicens brings a level of technical proficiency and creative flair that sets him apart. His bass lines are intricate and powerful, driving the rhythm and adding depth to the band’s overall sound.
Completing the trio is drummer Thomas Overbey, whose percussive talent is well-known form plying in numerous bands. Overbey’s collaboration with famous movie actor
Patrick Wilson (Insidious, The Conjuring, Aquaman, etc.) highlights his versatility and skill. His drumming is precise and energetic, providing the perfect backbone for the band’s high-energy performances.
Also appearing as a two-piece horn section is Eston Overbey on trumpet and Gavin Overbey on Sax.
The set will feature a special guest appearance by Zach Lombardo, voted one of the best harmonica players in Florida.
Whether you’re a long-time blues aficionado or new to the genre, this band’s performance will be a must-see.
• Deluxe 12
The Deluxe 12 is led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Kevin Earle Siebel backed up by veteran local players Keith Jones on drums and Steve Menendez on bass, along with Jonathon Clark on guitar.
After a several year hiatus from playing music, Kevin starting playing again in 2016 and began jamming around with friends and trying out for some bands with nothing really panning out. Kevin also started writing and recording at home and had kind of a rebirth of creative output.
After running into Steve Menendez one night at Ella’s in early 2019, they decided to get together with Steve’s longtime friend and drummer, Keith “Fuzzy” Jones and so started the Deluxe 12. The band played their first show in November 2019 then came 2020. Jonathon was added to the lineup after the COVID years and the band began to gel in 2021. They have played many shows since, mostly at small venues in the Heights
Kevin Earle and the Deluxe 12 is a singer/songwriter focused band with post punk, indie and Americana influences mixed in with touches of psychedelic classic rock. The songs flow from aggressive and noisy to quiet and heartfelt. All with melancholy lyrics about our collective descent into madness and personal reflections on grief, loss, and the acceptance of middle age. Sad Songs played with Pure Joy
