DARAA TRIBES
- is a Moroccan desert music group originating from the oasis city of Tagounite in the Daraa River Valley in Morocco. Each of its members is from a different tribe and brings different musical traditions with them. It's a mix of traditional tribal music and Sahara blues. A style was created, as it can only be found in the oases of the North African Sahara: Gnawa rhythms, Saharaui, Amazigh, Regada and Ikaaba. They offer a tribal fusion with a touch of blues and rock, eclectic sounds, percussion and vocals, the Darija, Hassani and Tamazight. This reflects a multilingual and multi-ethnic expression.
MOHAMED ERREBBAA
Mohamed Errebbaa was born in Rabat, Moroccan musician and Master in the GNAWA world. He spent a decade travelling throughout Morocco, studying the diverse regional musical traditions under some of the leading musicians in the country, becoming especially passionate about the three-stringed Gnawa bass lute, the Guembri, before launching his international career.
