Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2021“The Italian Table: celebration of pasta and first courses”
Dear Friends of PI-Philly,
We are happy to inform you that this month our Aperitivo will be substitute with an Apericena, an informal standing dinner where we will explore together appetizers and dishes of Italian cuisine.
On the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2021”, in collaboration with the General Consulate of Italy in Philadelphia, we invite you to “The Italian Table: celebration of pasta and first courses”
This festival is a great opportunity to talk about tradition and perspectives of Italian Cuisine: awareness and enhancement of food sustainability, quality products, enhancing Italian know-how, spreading the unique values and benefits of the Mediterranean diet. The first course was the food of the poor, when there was nothing else to put on the table and it is often made up of simple ingredients. Over time the first courses have been transformed into traditional dishes and then into unique dishes and reinvented by great chefs.
We will taste four Italian first courses that are part of the food traditions of different Italian Regions, we will talk about their origins and mention some curiosities, and then you will take home the recipes to relive what you tasted here!
Alessandra Mirra, Ph.D. Coordinator of Italian at Rowan University NJ and member of our Board will talk about Italian cuisine with a short speech at the beginning of the evening (7:15-7:30pm).
Members are welcome as are new friends!
If you want to connect with Italian professionals and create bridges between Italian and international professionals in the Greater Philadelphia area, this is what you are looking for! Make this event a networking opportunity!
