About this Event
We have recently seen a flurry of Federal Executive Orders many of which may have a direct and immediate impact on the operations of our NC member companies. Our Board has decided to hold a special session to inform our members about what they might expect from these Orders. Three of our valued sponsors have offered to present their views on the topic. We are holding this session by Zoom to allow for maximum participation and are also greatly accelerating the timeframe leading up to the event due to the immediacy of the topic.
We will do our best to apply for 3.0 NC general CLE credits, but because of the short notice, we cannot guarantee that we will receive approval for CLE credit.
Zoom link will be sent out prior to the event

Title: ICE Enforcement Actions: Employer Preparedness to Minimize Business Disruption
Description: This topic will address new executive orders and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) directives regarding immigration and work authorization practices for employers. DHS has announced it intends to increase its level of ICE enforcement activity, including agent raids on public and private employers, and the DOJ intends to investigate public officials who resist compliance. Employers should have a preparedness plan in place to minimize disruption to business operations. This presentation will cover both the legal and practical landscape employers face in light of these new actions, best practices for when an ICE representative or agent shows up to an employer’s business, and an outline of an employer’s Fourth Amendment rights to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures.
