Choose between a 2 km or 5 km route along the picturesque Port Credit waterfront trail. Funds raised from this popular community event support three transformative projects at Trillium Health Partners: The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital – set to become Canada’s largest hospital, the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children – Ontario’s first hospital dedicated exclusively to women’s and children’s care, and the redevelopment of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.
Participants are invited to take part in the opening ceremony and a guided warm-up with RBC Olympian Cynthia Appiah before setting off on the walk to the sounds of Canada's oldest and largest youth marching band – the world-renowned Burlington Teen Tour Marching Band. After the walk, attendees can enjoy the event’s complimentary festival, which includes the following:
• Delicious lunch options from a series of several vendors
• Activities for all ages, like inflatable bouncers, face painting, a colouring contest, music and many more fifth anniversary surprises
An Anonymous Donor has generously agreed to match donations to this year’s walk up to $250,000, so every time a friend sponsors you or donates, their gift will be worth 2X more, doubling the impact on health care in our community.
