The Handlers - Kōrero with Poata Alvie McKree
Join us on Saturday 29th March, 11am –12pm to hear playwright Alvie McKree and Te Toi Uku director Louise Stevenson discuss Alvie’s play The Handlers that debuted at Te Pou Theatre in 2024.
A sell-out show, The Handlers, delves into the lives of wāhine handling it all in the Crown Lynn factory during the 1970s. Humorous, emotional and nostalgic, the play explores discrimination and racism in the labour market during the time.
