About this Event
“The Hand and Hands, Simplified” is a three-hour workshop on drawing the human hand or hands. Come join us at the Cincinnati Art Club for a fun and informative session on drawing hands! Whether you're a beginner looking to improve your skills or an experienced artist wanting to refine your techniques, this event is perfect for all levels. Our talented instructor, Marlene Steele will guide you to perfection! The day will begin with instructor discussion and demonstration on the hand structure and form. The class will then draw from a hand model. You should leave the workshop with a greater understanding of the hand, how to acurately render it, and have a greater confidence in your future work, because you will have drawn it, in various positions and contexts.
The Class Location, will be in the CAC Clubhouse, Wessel Gallery,1021 Parkside Place, Cincinnati, Ohio. This is at the intersection of Parkside Place and Martin Drive at the foot of Mt. Adams and entrance of Eden Park. The Clubhouse is fully air conditioned, has restrooms, a library and a kitchen and bar for programs and exhibitions throughout the year. Feel free to peruse the library books and the many pictures of past presidents and club gatherings. There are photos of famous artists who were members of the Club, such as Rettig, Duveneck, Farny, Barnhorn and Wessel.
Marlene Steele, a 30-year+ experienced, working artist and student of Aileen McCarthy, who was a student of Frank Duveneck, has agreed to teach in the Cincinnati Art Club’s Continuing Education program.
