About this Event
Blueprints of Awakening: The Guru Principle
An in-person weekend retreat, with live online teachings from Khenpo Kunga, and in-person practice and discussion sessions with Tergar Guides.
Join us in-person at the Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh for a weekend retreat on the guru principle, following aspects of Tergar International's online event. We will watch Khenpo Kunga's live teachings together online, as well as some additional sessions from the Tergar International online event. There will also be time for in-person practice and discussion, led by Tergar Guides Anya Adair and Robin Harris.
Registration for this in-person event will also give you free access to the full Tergar International online event. The in-person schedule will not include every session from the online event, but you will have access to these via recordings posted on the online event page. Instructions on how to access the online event and recordings will be given during the event itself.
The guru principle lies at the heart of the Vajrayana path, yet it is often misunderstood. Far from being about blind faith, this profound relationship to our teachers and the world acts as a powerful mirror, reflecting the innate wakefulness that is our very nature. In this retreat, Khenpo Kunga — having just returned from his most recent three-year retreat — will guide us through a unique exploration of the guru principle. We will delve into the three kinds of guru, the sacred role of lineage, and how our connection with our teachers is essential for recognizing our own true nature. Drawing from Mingyur Rinpoche’s Nectar of the Path, we will practice a simple yet beautiful guru yoga, a skillful way to open our hearts and connect with innate wisdom. This retreat is a key event in Tergar's year-long transmission of Vajrayana teachings, Blueprints of Awakening.
